cPanel hosting

cPanel is the website management software. It is not free or open source; the product is developed by a professional team of programmers and licences are sold per server. This is important for dedicated server customers. Panel is based on Linux OS. It has a graphical interface, however command line management is also available.

cPanel is designed to function either as a dedicated server or virtual private server and it supports CentOS, Red Hat Linux, and FreeBSD.

  • Easily upload and manage web pages in cPanel’s File Manager.
  • Use cPanel’s Web Disk feature to drag and drop files into the customer’s account.
  • Use traditional file transfer methods (including FTP, SFTP, and FTPS).
  • Create additional FTP accounts for other users with the specific access rights.

Website owners can use cPanel to create email accounts using standard mail protocols, including POP, IMAP, and SMTP, both with and without SSL encryption. SSL is purchased for additional price.

cPanel provides anti-spam features SpamAssassin and BoxTrapper. The mail can be used online with the Google like interface (depends of the webmail software). Also cPanel is used for backing up the website and has many other specific features for beginner and advanced user.
